KYA — Know Your Agent — is Regent's framework for connecting an autonomous agent to a responsible context, a financial mandate, and a verifiable audit history. It is a product framework, not a formal regulatory standard — and that distinction is the honest place to start.
KYC answers "who is this customer" before money moves. When the actor is an AI agent, the same question has no standard answer: an API key is not an identity, a prompt is not a mandate, and a vendor log is not evidence. KYA is our name for closing that gap with three connections.
KYA is not a regulation, a certification, or an industry standard body's term — claims like "KYA-compliant" would be meaningless today. It is the framework our platform implements, described so that risk teams can evaluate the mechanics rather than the label. Where formal frameworks exist (EU AI Act record-keeping, NIST AI RMF), we build evidence exports and mappings toward them — status lives on the Trust Center.
